Autism
As with any developmental problem, early
intervention and detection makes a profound difference in enhancing
children’s development and assures that children receive services
that meet their needs. Carolina Care uses psychometric procedures
to support differential diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders
from other early developmental difficulties.
Psychoeducational Testing
Psychoeducational testing is used to assess learning, cognition,
attention, emotional or behavioral problems as they pertain to one’s
school and academic functioning. At Carolina Care and Counseling, we
conduct psychoeducational testing with a neuropsychological
emphasis. Areas of testing include, but are not limited to, the
following:
- Evaluation of intelligence including learning style,
strengths, and weaknesses
- Evaluation for entrance into academically gifted programs
- Educational and Achievement Testing
- Preschool and Kindergarten readiness
- Diagnostic testing for learning disabilities and
difficulties
- Diagnostic testing for developmental delays, including:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
- Pervasive Developmental Disorders such as Aspergers and
Austism
- Language processing delays
- Cognitive impairments
